Our lives revolve around cycles, day and night, sleep and rest, eat and digest. Winter, summer, autumn and Spring. The more harmonised we can allow our cycles to become the better we will feel. For instance trying to go to bed at the same times every evening and waking at roughly the same time in the morning. Our bodies and nervous system responds when we honor the cycles we are in. As we move into September we may be feeling a little out of balance, yearning for the heat of the summer and the longer days. How can you bring gratitude into this month? Taking time in the daylight hours where possible to be outside, turning your face to the sun and breathing for a few moments, taking time to notice the beauty of the changing season.

Yoga is a wonderful way to keep ourselves in balance and create healthy cycles within us. Both mentally, energetically, physically and emotionally.

“In the dance of light and shadow, we find the true essence of balance and harmony."

This term we will be incorporating the Bandhas into our practice. Bandhas are energetic locks or contractions in the body that are used in certain yoga practices to control the flow of energy

There is often a misconception about yoga and that it is only for the flexible or fit, just for women or even just physical exercise. Yoga is so much more and is a holistic practice that promotes overall wellbeing.

At the Yoga Vine we believe yoga is for everyone and you will always find a class that suits your needs. Ranging from a very gentle yoga class, restorative yoga with the support of bolsters and blankets, a beginners to intermediate yoga class with adaptions for injuries, retreats, one2one yoga therapy or private yoga. Upcoming in the Autumn term we have restorative yoga sessions and a full day retreat.

With love and blessings
